One of our favorite feast days in celebration of St. Francis of Assisi is the blessing of pets. This will occur Friday, October 4 at 8:00 a.m. in the St. Boniface Gym. Parents may bring their child’s pet and gather in the gym at 7:45 a.m. The students may go directly to their classroom, hang up their book bag, and then come back to the gym.
Students who have pets, but cannot be transported, may bring a picture of their pet and show it to Fr. Tim for a blessing.
All students who do not bring a pet, or a picture of a pet, will first go to the classroom when the 7:50 bell rings. They will come to the gym at 8:00 and sit in the bleachers. After Fr. Tim blesses each pet individually, the pets are paraded close to the bleachers so the students can see and pet all the animals.
Parents must take the pet home after the blessing. No child will be allowed to keep the pet in school during the day!
PTO will bring in cupcakes to distribute to the students during mid-morning snack time, in celebration of St. Francis of Assisi.
