Note from your PTO:
PTO Donation Drive
Remember that October officially kicks off our PTO Donation Drive! Your contribution to the PTO will help support a variety of educational and community building activities in your child’s school. Your impact is directly felt by our children. After prayerful consideration, we ask that you be sure to designate your gift to be credited to the PTO. We recognize that not all families are in the position to contribute monetarily, in these instances we ask that you keep our schools, faculty, and children in your prayers by indicating so on the pledge sheet.
We are challenging each classroom to get 100% participation for this year’s drive. Remember that participation simply means filling out the pledge sheet and turning it in. It is not based on amount or type of contribution (monetary or prayers). Classrooms where each family has returned a pledge sheet (found in weekly folders this week) will get a special treat from the PTO. We will be posting classroom percentages as we start to gather pledge sheets.
Room Parent Meeting
Are you a new room parent? Are you a seasoned one but need new ideas? Are you interested in maybe becoming a room parent this year or next but wanted to know more? Come to this meeting! There will be a SHORT Room Parent meeting on Monday, Oct 8 right after early dismissal in the Bishop Higi Room at St Mary. The Bishop Higi Room is downstairs just off the lower lot, so if you park there, you can come in the double doors and go straight into the Higi room. We will give parents time to get children at other schools before starting the meeting.
What to look forward to: We will have Blue Knight Auction Committee Members available to talk about projects that have gone over well at the Auction. Mrs. Spann will give us ideas (either in person or via list given) for class projects. We will have some teacher insights on what has worked (ideas for parties, treats, etc) and what hasn’t worked so well in the past in their own classrooms.
Please feel free to bring your children. We will not have childcare, but I will bring snacks for them so that they do not turn on us (after school meltdown avoidance is crucial!).
Trunk-or-Treat is Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 6-8PM (set-up 5:30PM). Forms are due by Oct 17. All LCSS families are invited to wear costumes and trick or treat while enjoying decorated cars in the Central Catholic parking lot! Dress to impress and compete in a costume contest and a car decorating contest! Hot dogs and drinks will be provided (free-will donation). Please note that we ask that a guardian be with children at this event. This helps to ensure that all participants will have a safe and fun time!
