Both St. Mary and St. Boniface Schools were placed on a lockout today. The schools were alerted by the Lafayette Police Department of a report of shots fired near downtown.
A lockout means that we secure the perimeter. No one is allowed in or out of the building, and classroom activities continue as normal. Maintenance checks all exit doors and are on alert. Within 15 minutes of the lockout today, the police phoned back to the schools indicating that all was clear. They did not apprehend anyone and they could not find where the shots were coming from. All was clear for the schools. Thank you.
