Dear School Family,
We’re reaching the end of our Little Learners Big Dreams crowdfunding campaign, and I’d first like to thank everyone who has donated. In the next week, we need a large final push in order for us to reach our goals.
I am in the fortunate position where I can visit our school campuses throughout the day and witness all the great work your children are putting into their education. From Saints projects, to learning the Angelus, to excelling in the classroom, in the band room and on the sports field, you’re helping your children grow, learn, and take advantage of all that the school offers. A few times this school year, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer as a Book Buddy for Ms. Demerly’s Kindergarten classroom at St. Mary. It is such a joy to work with those young kids, helping them learn whichever lesson is assigned that day. It also provides me with renewed appreciation for all the great work and effort our teachers give each day.
The Lafayette Catholic School System is blessed to have teachers who are passionate about education and working in Catholic schools. This fundraiser will help our teachers bring in dynamic speakers, add books to their classroom libraries and the school libraries, and maybe even help fund a dream field trip.
Another goal of our fundraiser is to raise money for Matthew 25 Soup Kitchen at St. Ann’s Parish. Ten percent of your donations to the fundraiser will go to help feed the hungry in our community this winter. As Catholics, we are called to serve, and we instill this each and every day at all of our campuses. Your example of charity and good works helps set the bar high for our next generation of philanthropists and Catholics.
Thank you again for all you give to our schools already, and please, dig deep and help us cross the finish line on the Little Learners Big Dreams fundraiser.
In Christ,
Michael M. Seeley
President
